01 Working together
A place to keep making
My day job keeps me close to complex software. Paper Plane gives me room to apply that experience more directly and keep trying new ideas.
Who am I /The person behind the plane
Hi, I’m Tommy.
Product designer, curious problem-solver,
and the person you’ll actually talk to.

01 /How I see the work
Design is not about personal taste or making something look clever. It is about helping people understand where they are, what matters, and what to do next.
By day, I work as a product designer, making complex software clear and usable. That means looking past the screen, asking why something feels difficult, and finding the route that makes sense to the person using it.
Paper Plane is where that experience meets your business: the strategic thinking of a larger organisation, delivered with the speed, care, and directness of one person who genuinely cares about the outcome.
02 /Why I keep building
Paper Plane is where I keep exploring, making, and helping businesses after the nine-to-five.
I do it because this work gives me energy, and because I love seeing a complicated problem click into place.

02 Working together
This is work I choose to do because I enjoy understanding a business and turning fuzzy thoughts into something clear and useful.
03 Working together
Working directly with the person behind a business keeps the conversations honest and the result connected to what they actually need.
03 /A few familiar names
A few of the businesses and teams I’ve had the chance to work with.

04 /What you can expect
Good work starts with an honest conversation, not a rehearsed pitch.
01 A working principle
I start by understanding what is working, what is getting in the way, and which problem is actually worth solving.
02 A working principle
You look over my shoulder, react early, and help shape the result. No disappearing act followed by a big reveal.
03 A working principle
I stay clear about the trade-offs, who is involved, and whether something is genuinely the right fit for your business.
I like asking why, making complicated things feel obvious, and figuring things out together. Preferably over coffee.
Tell me what’s on your mind.
We’ll figure out the next step together.
